GOLD BOOTS CIC was established to provide children and young people from all backgrounds with opportunities to experience life in a safe, supportive and judgement-free environment.

We believe that no young person should feel limited by their circumstances. Through mentoring, sport and positive role models, we encourage young people to discover new interests, build confidence and develop the life skills needed to make positive choices.

As a community organisation supported through National Lottery funding, we are committed to creating opportunities that inspire young people, strengthen communities and encourage lasting positive change. Every programme we deliver is designed to help young people feel recognised, respected and empowered to believe that the impossible is possible every single day.

Why Urban Fairways?

Urban Fairways was developed through conversations with young people, schools and community partners across Croydon.

Many young people told us they wanted opportunities to experience activities outside of their everyday environment, spend time with trusted adults and build confidence in safe spaces where they could simply enjoy being young people.

Golf provides that opportunity.

The game encourages patience, respect, concentration and resilience while allowing young people to enjoy the outdoors, learn new skills and experience a different environment away from the pressures they may face in everyday life.

Urban Fairways combines golf, mentoring and positive role models to help young people develop confidence, emotional wellbeing and stronger decision-making skills, while building friendships and creating positive memories that last beyond the programme.
